Pierre Chareau (1883-1950)
The exhibit at the Jewish Museum is the first US exhibition showcasing over 180 rarely seen  furniture, lighting fixtures, and interiors, as well as, his Maison de Verre, the glass house completed in Paris in 1932. Chareau was one of the most sought after designers in France.
Pierre  Chareau balanced the opulence of traditional French decorative arts with interior designs that were elegant, functional, and met the requirements of modern life.
