Welcome! We're the Voice of New England's Furnishings & Design Industry
The International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) is the only all-industry association whose members provide services and products to the furnishings and design industry. IFDA is the driving force, through its programs and services, to enhance the professionalism and stature of the industry worldwide. As the "voice" of the total furnishings and design industry, IFDA provides its members with the tools and resources to enhance their businesses. Aggressive advocacy promotes the advantages of working with an IFDA professional. IFDA welcomes members from every facet of the furnishings and design industry. Members are executives and companies professionally engaged in the design, production, distribution, promotion, communication or education in the furnishings and design and/or related industries.

June 2015 ... Boston Harbor Sunset Cruise with BRAGB
We were lucky to have a beautiful evening when we cast off for a sunset cruise along the Boston Harbor with the Charles Riverboat Company. This relaxing evening was a joint event with IFDA-NE and BRAGB New England.
June 2015 ... Take A Seat Gala and Auction
IFDA-NE's Take A Seat Gala was a blast! Over 130 people attended including members, chapter sponsors, event sponsors and friends of IFDA-NE. The philanthropic event raised just over $16,000 for the Women's Institute for Housing and Economic Development!
May 2015 ... Take A Seat Boston Cocktail Party
IFDA-NE offered a second chance to view the upcycled chairs at this Boston Cocktail Party. At the event it was clear that excitement was building for the upcoming chair auction and some bidding wars were starting to brew. Attendees also enjoyed discussing design trends, nibbling on canapes and sharing a drink.
May 2015 ... Take A Seat Champagne Kick Off Party
IFDA-NE invited area residents and the design community to a kick off celebration for TAKE A SEAT's Traveling Exhibit, the third international design exhibition which features up-cycled chairs creatively redesigned by Boston architects, builders, craftsmen, and designers. The evening was an exciting chance for a first look at the upcycled chairs! Attendees also enjoy canapes, champagne and good company.
April 2015 ... An Editor's Perspective on Design PR
Kyle Hoepner, Editor-in-Chief of New England Home magazine, and Stacy Kunstel, Homes Editor of New England Home and regional editor for other publishers, shared their insight on how designers can work to get their projects printed. Additionally, Chris Saad of Audio Concepts gave a demonstration onTwitter tips and best practices.
March 2015 ... Modern Interiors for Men
Television famed designer Taniya Nayak moderated an exciting panel discussion on designing for men which included New York based designers Antonino Buzzetta and Eddie Lee and Boston designers Dennis Duffy and Christine Tuttle. These experts shared their ideas on creating functional, high-quality and comfortable environments for men.
February 2015 ... Colors That Make Sense
Our kick-off event for the 2015 program year featured a presentation from Gloria Robertson, of Twinkle Designs, about how to create the perfect environment that is a true reflection of your client’s home or business by using color. This event also included speed networking and a presentation about the Women’s Institute for Housing and Economic Development (WIHED) which is IFDA-NE’s new non-profit.
December 2014 ... Holiday Party!
Our annual holiday party was a chance to celebrate together and lift a glass our colleagues. The Endicott Estate, an architectural and historical gem, was the perfect venue. During the course of the evening we honored board members, collected donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House, listened to carolers, toured the 25 room estate, took a horse and carriage ride around the estate grounds and greenhouse, and enjoyed a delicious spread.
November 2014 ... Holiday Entertaining with a Personal Touch with Chef Bill
We enjoyed an entertaining and educational evening with Chef Bill who demonstrated personal touches that make your food stand-out from conventional offerings like homemade Caesar Salad dressing, hot fudge sauce and pickles. Chef Bill brought many more yummy appetizers for us to sample and savor.
October 2014 ... 13th Annual Interactive Membership Dinner
The 13th Annual Interactive Membership Dinner was an amazing opportunity to see the most current products and offerings of our vendors, view the Designer Showcase entries, honor the Designer Showcase winners, and network with vendors and designers.
September 2014 ... Writing Workshops with Louis Postel
When clarity meets creativity! Louis Postel hosted a series of 7 exclusive writing workshops for our chapter. Lessons included how to tell your story as a designer; how to entice editors about your work; and describe your projects best on the web.
